THE WISH LIST

Some days, I wish…to play the guitar,

Liberate within, what’s kept me in dark.

Channel that hurt, so that the outburst lasts,

Unleash emotions that make bystanders dance.

Play stories of good Samaritans, the noble stars,

Create melody with the sea as romance looms large.

Crowded or empty, walk content with a cigar,

Accept my older self, wrinkled and scarred.

And, the joy to pull the string of a woman’s heart,

Whore or a whimsical presence, my attention is caught!

Alas there is no affinity to hear any applause,

Although the mirror whispers, ‘kind stand tall’.

Lastly, this monogamy is slowly seducing me to sleep,

A self-inflicted high, this moment is all but left to live.
